Starbucks Forum:
Hi~!
I'm really, really excited about the idea of working at Starbucks. I went to the hiring fair in my area last Saturday, and was told I may or may not get a call back by this Friday. I was so happy when I got a call back yesterday, but was surprised when the manager at this specific location said that I was being called back for a "second interview". And I thought this was the end of the interviewing process!
Is the second interview similar to the group interview at the job fair? How is it different? What can I expect? Ah! I'm so nervous! Any help/input would be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you so much :) !

Second interview usually mean
Second interview usually means you're going to be hired. Way to go! The best advice I have for you is to calm down because landing a job at Starbucks is really no big deal.
Would you be this excited about an interview at McDonalds? The two are very similar you know. As far as the job is concerned at least.
So just calm down and remember tell your interviewer that your favorite thing about coffee is a side of fries.
CONGRATULATIONS on a second i
CONGRATULATIONS on a second interview! The 2nd interview does not always mean you are hired, it is usually just to get another manager's feedback and opinion before moving forward. If you went to a job fair, chances are that your application and feedback from the interview was passed on to another manager with hiring needs in the area, and now they want to interview you for their store.
You SHOULD be excited to work for Starbucks. To compare to McDonalds is such a joke. If you want to work in the food business, go work at McDonalds, but at Starbucks you are hired to be in the people business. Customers can go anywhere to buy a cup of coffee, yes, I happen to think Starbucks Coffee is the best, but I work there, I am partial to it...but lets get real, coffee is coffee, you could get it anywhere. But you cannot go anywhere and get the service, relationship, connection and friendship you get at Starbucks. We work there because most of us genuinly LIKE people. We want to be the first to greet you in the morning and get you off to a great start to your day. Get that at McDonalds??? Didn't think so. So just as you cant compare the experience as a customer, you certainly can not compare it as an employer. I am excited for you, good luck - and with excitment like that, it is Starbucks that is sure to win if you are hired!!
Thank you! That's the thi
Thank you!
That's the thing that I'm worried about :(. The manager who interviewed me at the job fair is the same manager that called me back! That's why I'm wondering if the questions/setup will be the same, and if so, should I answer them with the same examples/scenarios? Yikes, stress.
In any case, thanks again :)!

Listen... you're gonna be fine. However you may want to get out of this Starbucks union thing. It's not official. And the people here will only try to compromise what Starbucks stands for. Ask someone at work about the union and it's official status. They will inform you.
