Transferring from a US to an international store

Hey! I'm currently working in a California Starbucks and am planning a move to Hawaii in a few weeks. I was told that Starbucks may have changed their policy on transferring between a US and an international store. I know that before, you had to quit and be re-hired with an international store, but that may have changed so that you can transfer directly between the stores. My manager isn't even sure and is going to check with the DM, but he is dragging his heels so I thought I'd ask you guys. Hopefully somebody knows so let me know! Thanks! :)

Hawaii stores are not company owned. They fall under tha catagory of LC (concept stores). At this time, there is no way to transfer between company owned and LC stores. You should start calling the SMs in hawaii and asking them if they will hire you. Odds are you will get picked up pretty quickly. Good luck!

Ummmmm....WOW. HAWAII WAS THE LAST STATE ENTERED INTO THE UNION ALMOST 60 YEARS AGO. This means that if you want to work in a Starbucks there, regardless of whether it is an LC or not, it is not an "international" store. Working at any store or company in Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, and Guam (just to name a few US territories) would not be considered international either. Oh, and Alaska is a state too.

And I didn't mean "union" as in what this site is trying to form, I meant the UNITED States of America.
