I am a 19 year old college student actively seeking emplyoment from Starbucks. I absolutely love Starbucks... I love the big, comfy, eggplant colored chairs; I love the aroma when I walk into the store; I love the vanilla powder and the wooden stirrers; I love talking to the intriguing baristas that work there. I am a people person and love interacting with people, and I am a diligent worker. But here's the deal...
I don't have any experience. My dad is in the music industry so I've worked at Publishing and Management companies. This past summer, I worked as a Boating Waterfront Director at a summer camp. I guided rivers and taught kids how to climb rocks. I've worked with people, of all ages, but I've never worked with coffee.
My local Starbucks is in a great part of downtown, and I really would like to work there. However, the management says "they always accept applications", but that they pretty much have their staff. I don't really feel like there's a whole lot of room on the Starbucks application to express my extreme like and appreciation for Starbucks. Any tips for applying?
I'd appreciate any tips I can get! Thanks so much!

First thing to do is to find
First thing to do is to find out if that store has a need. Most stores will be looking to get staffed up for holliday.
I have a few tips for you
I have a few tips for you
1. Know someone who knows someone, a reference from someone who already works there is great to have and you are more likely to get an interview
2. Look for new store opennings...they open new stores everywhere all the time and that is your best chance to be hired
3. The experience you have is fine. You don't need experience in coffee, but from the jobs that you listed make sure you know pleanty of situations that you handled like a time when you dealt with someone difficult and what you did....the interview is basically all questions about specific times and specific things you did...so if you are like me and easily forget, try to think back about your jobs
4. I don't know if your applications are the same as mine was but you are given a chance to express yourself at the bottom, answer the questions and make em good.
and that's all I really have to say...I hope that at least some of it is useful, and good luck
