M17 in NYC: Celebrate the 4th Anniv. of the Starbucks Union at the CEO's New Mansion!

Wed, 05/07/2008 - 2:13pm -- SWU

This May 17, the IWW Starbucks Workers Union will
celebrate its fourth anniversary with actions around
the world.

In New York City, you are invited to join baristas and
supporters for a colorful and lively protest at the
new $24.7 million mansion of Starbucks CEO Howard
Schultz.

A STARBUCKS BARISTA WOULD HAVE TO WORK OVER 350 YEARS
STRAIGHT WITHOUT SLEEPING TO PURCHASE SCHULTZ'S MANSION!

Billionaire Schultz is the heart and soul of
Starbucks' relentless union-busting campaign being
waged against baristas struggling for a living wage
and secure work hours.

Despite the union-busting, Starbucks workers around
the country continue to join the union at a robust
pace and win important improvements on the job.

Protesters will honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in
this 40th anniversary year of his death. Starbucks'
unbridled greed and disrespect for Dr. King's federal
holiday represent an intolerable insult to his memory.

So come celebrate our 4th anniversary with us at CEO
Schultz's mansion. He just moved to New York and he
needs to learn that New York is a union town!

Saturday, May 17th, 2008
2pm-4pm
